Lo scopo di questa tesi è quello di fornire, innanzitutto, le basi necessarie per comprendere le “Operazioni Speciali” in ambito militare ed i pilastri fondamentali su cui esse si fondano, così come sono state concepite dai combattenti nella storia.
Questo lavoro intende inoltre mettere in risalto i protagonisti della Regia Marina, precursori dell'attuale Marina Militare italiana, un’eccellenza tra le forze armate nazionali e veri eroi d’Italia durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale e, soprattutto, durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale: i marinai della X^ Flottiglia MAS.
Sono state analizzate le caratteristiche proprie ed intrinseche delle operazioni speciali e successivamente, mediante un excursus riguardante la storia del Reparto in questione, sono state analizzate le loro imprese in battaglia e l'evoluzione dei mezzi e delle nuove tecnologie impiegate.

The purpose of this thesis is to provide, first of all, the necessary foundations to understand "Special Operations" in the military context and the fundamental pillars on which they are based, as conceived by fighters throughout history.
This work has also the aim to highlight the protagonists of the italia "Regia Marina", ancestors of the current Italian Navy, an excellence among the national armed forces and real italian heroes during the First World War and, above all, during the Second World War: the sailors of the X^ Flottiglia MAS (10th Assault Vehicle Flotilla).
The proper and intrinsic characteristics of special operations have been analyzed, and subsequently, through an overview of the unit's history, also their feats in battle, the evolution of the vehicles and the new technologies employed.
