Il presente elaborato ha avuto come obiettivo quello di caratterizzare se monociti reclutati dal sangue e infiltranti la mucosa intestinale potessero polarizzare verso un fenotipo muscolaris e contribuire alla dismotilità intestinale associata ad una dieta ad alto contenuto di grassi. Lo studio è stato eseguito su topi maschi alimentati con dieta HFD, e oltre ad analizzare il peso dell'animale e quello della milza e del fegato, sono state effettuate delle analisi immunoistochimiche e funzionali su tessuti colici prelevati al momento del sacrificio.

The present work aimed to characterise whether monocytes recruited from the blood and infiltrating the intestinal mucosa could bias towards a muscularis phenotype and contribute to the intestinal dysmotility associated with a high-fat diet. The study was performed on male mice fed the HFD diet, and in addition to analysing the weight of the animal and that of the spleen and liver, immunohistochemical and functional analyses were performed on colic tissue taken at the time of sacrifice.
