Riassunto
Sinonasal cancers (SNC) are rare cancers with a high proportion attributable to occupational carcinogens.Among the most frequently involved occupational carcinogens we find wood and leather dust.Other putative causal agents included chrome, tannins, formaldehyde, textile dusts. Many cases had unknown exposure. The Tuscany Region has established, through a specific resolution, a health surveillance program dedicated to exposed and former exposed to carcinogens for the nasal cavities and paranasal sinuses aimed at the early identification of this form of tumors. The project was carried out by the offices of the UF PISLL (Functional Unit for Hygiene Prevention and Workplace Safety) of the participating Region and saw the participation of ENT colleagues for the instrumental evaluation of patients. Over 90 subjects were evaluated at the UF PISLL in Lucca, also allowing the identification of a case of TUNS of professional origin.
