Oltre a fornirne un'analisi linguistica e strutturale, volta soprattutto a chiarire i rapporti con i rispettivi drammi, questo lavoro affronta varie questioni ancora aperte, quali datazione, autore, finalità e origine della denominazione.

This thesis offers a comprehensive critical edition and running commentary of the narrative hypotheses of Euripides' plays. Besides analysing language and structure of these texts and their relationship with the correspondent plays, it addresses the debated questions of date, authorship, readership, and origin of the denomination.
