The thesis, in its first part, focuses on the concept of transport insurance, paying particular attention to marine transport. The principles underlying insurance, its subjects, components and typical elements of the contract are therefore analyzed.
Given the importance of Institute Cargo Clauses within insurance and international trade, it is present a subsection covering the history and organization of this essential instrument.
In the second part of the thesis the legal case "Delos Shipholding S.A. & Others vs Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty S.E. & Others" is analysed. The choice of this case is explained by the possibility of matching some of the elements explained in the first part of the thesis with the reality of the facts, all in a very recent topical case.
