Riassunto
Patients with Fontan circulation have reduced functional capacity in part because of reduced
cardiac output but also abnormal lung function and respiratory muscle weakness. Ultrasound
imaging (US) is
a non-invasive tool to investigate the diaphragm muscle function.
Aims of the
study were:
1) evaluate lung function and functional capacity in a cohort of patients with Fontan
circulation. 2) to evaluate static and dynamic diaphragmatic function in a subgroup of this
population.
