Riassunto
The purpose of the thesis was to investigate the decomposition of UV filters inside sunscreens, considered environmental pollutants. The studies were performed in aqueous and non-aqueous solution. In summary, the two filters were subjected to different analytical techniques from which various information was extracted. The samples were subjected to cyclic voltammetry to find the redox potential of the analyte; the number of electrons exchanged in the process and find out if the process was reversible or irreversible. The UV / Vis and IR spectroelectrochemical techniques were useful to get an idea of the products that were formed during cyclic voltammetry. Finally the solutions were subjected to electrolysis and the products were analyzed by chromatographic techniques (HPLC / DAD and GC / MS).
