Riassunto
This study investigates the efficacy of 1 mg BID Budesonide Orodispersible Tablets (BOT) in inducing clinical and histological remission in 80 patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Results confirm the treatment's effectiveness while aligning with international guidelines by maintaining endpoints related to clinical, histological, and endoscopic remission. Interestingly, histological remission surpasses clinical remission, hinting at potential factors such as esophageal stiffness or substenosis not assessed through endoscopy, possibly influencing patient symptom perception. Despite residual symptoms, a notable enhancement in endoscopic parameters is observed, and a substantial percentage of patients achieve deep histological remission. Further investigation could shed light on the clinical implications of this disparity between histological and symptomatic remission in EoE.
