Riassunto
LTE will be the market leader in the 4G wireless communication systems. It consists in a set of enhancements to the UMTS, which is introduced in 3GPP Release 8.
LTE has the purposes to increase the capacity and the speed of cellular networks and to provide an all-IP flat networking architecture.
One of the most interesting feature introduced in LTE is MIMO. MIMO uses multiple transmit antennas and multiple receive antennas to increase data rates and coverage without additional bandwidth or transmit power.
This work focuses on design and implementation of a MIMO scheduler for LTE networks. First, I will introduce some useful concepts about LTE and MIMO technologies, then I will show design and implementation details about LTE MIMO scheduler. Simulation results are also discussed in order to evaluate the correctness and the performance of the implementation. At the end, I will talk about conclusions and future works.
