Riassunto
Computational codes play a fundamental role in analyzing and ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants. Within this framework, the National Radiation Protection Institute (SURO) is developing a portfolio of calculation tools to support SUJB, the Czech regulatory authority. To validate models and improve the reliability of simulation results, benchmarking between different codes is essential.
This thesis focuses on conducting a benchmark between the lattice codes HELIOS and SCALE for a VVER-1000 reactor. The impact of the nuclear data libraries generated by these two codes was further assessed by performing a full-core analysis with the 3D nodal simulator PARCS, considering various scenarios including steady-state, null transient, and rod ejection conditions.
