The thesis discusses the synthesis and characterization of the systems ethylene glycol/potassium hydroxide and ethylene glycol/potassium hydroxide/boric acid for the purpose of CO2 capture. Data from different physical-chemical analysis are reported. The systems are compared, by the use of the Hole Model, to ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents. Absorption perfomances are reported together with two different strategies for desorption.
