Riassunto
The present work is focus on a better understanding of both mixing processes in static mixer for emulsion oil/water and the most important parameters affecting the mixing performance. Numerical simulations were performed for a simple 2D model and a more complex 3D model, by using RANS ( Reynolds Avareged Navier-Stokes) model. The goals of this work were to obtain information on the break up of oil drops in water from a 2D multiphase model and to obtain information both on the velocity field and the shear stress field, from a 3D single-phase model with 6 Kenics static mixer (KM).
