Riassunto
In this master thesis, an optimization and performance evaluation of the SiPM-based PET detectors of TRIMAGE brain scanner is presented. TRIMAGE is a project with the aim to create a trimodal, cost-effective imaging tool consisting of PET/MR/EEG. The aim of this work is to evaluate the performance of the TRIMAGE PET detector, measuring different detector features, such as pixel/layer identification capability and energy resolution. In this study software analysis to optimize calibration parameters such as ASIC board thresholds and SiPM bias voltage has been implemented. In addition assembly procedure and optical coupling materials has been analized. The study lead to the optimization of detector final design and to a substantial improvement in early stage detector performances.
