Riassunto
System biology deals with the understanding of the complex interactions between biological entities. Perturbations may arise due to alterations in these biological species and the propagation of such perturbations is of major interest as it reveals how biological processes are then affected. Different approaches are used to tackle this problem, mainly based on complex simulations that require a detailed description of the system not always available. In this work a novel network propagation algorithm is proposed to address a classification problem on biological species' concentrations, the algorithm requires no prior knowledge regarding the parameters of the biological process and considers only the topology of the interaction network.
