Riassunto
The goal of this thesis is to develop a more effective and standardized methodology that combines biological and engineering knowledge, with the specific goal of understanding turtle behaviors regarding how they move by performing continuous sequences of dives, even during long travels.
In doing so, the aim is also to establish some standardized methods to be used in the analysis of animal navigation, from experiment setup choices to data analysis.
Methods are based firstly on good knowledge and robust use of sensors. This leads to efficient data acquisition and processing and good interpretation of results from both biological and signal analysis perspectives.
