Riassunto
In literature it has been shown how the streaks could lead to the transition delay inside a boundary layer and, also, the best method known until now for the streak production is the one based on the use of Miniature Vortex Generators (MVGs).

In this work a new method for the streaks production, based on couples of counter-rotating vortices, is proposed and preliminary investigated, in order to go beyond MVGs limits for their practical implementation for the transition delay on aerodynamic bodies. Transition delay is directly related to drag reduction, which is an important goal in the design of aerodynamic bodies. In this thesis the capability of the new method to produce stable streaks has been assessed, by performing a parametric preliminary study of the flow. Finally, it has been verified with a further simulation that the streaks generated with the proposed method can actually delay the transition, and damp TS waves that would be convectively unstable in the uncontrolled Blasius boundary layer.
