Riassunto (Inglese)
Riassunto (Italiano)
The work carried out in this thesis has focused on the synthesis of glycoconjugated lanthanide-based complexes as molecular probes and aminocarbyne diiron complexes with terminal glycoconjugated and non-glycoconjugated pyridine ligands. The molecules have been designed for applications in cancer diagnosis and therapy, respectively. The intention has been to exploit the high glycolytic metabolism characteristic of cancer cells, so as to allow greater internalisation of the molecules via the membrane transporters GLUTs.
