The paper presents an in-depth analysis of the academic experience of students at the Fondazione Campus, with particular emphasis on the degree programs in Tourism Sciences. Through a statistical survey conducted on a sample of 130 students, the thesis aims to assess the perception of the training offer, the level of satisfaction, the preparation for the world of work and the correspondence between professional expectations and results. The Campus Foundation is distinguished by offering academic courses in tourism in collaboration with prestigious Italian universities, such as the University of Pisa and the University of Pavia. Its mission is to train highly qualified professionals, capable of entering a constantly changing field. The strengths of the Campus include the high level of teachers, the interdisciplinary approach, the presence of laboratories and external lessons, the small number of students per class and the compulsory attendance. The statistical survey is based on a questionnaire structured in three thematic areas: personal data, past experiences and future expectations, and specific evaluation of the Campus’s training offer. The analysis of the data collected was carried out with the help of the statistical software R, which made it possible to highlight significant correlations between the variables analysed. From the point of view of the statistical sample, there is a clear prevalence of female students (77.7%), confirming the trend in the tourist sector to be characterized by a strong female presence. Most students come from central Italy (66.9%) and small towns or villages with a population of less than 100,000. This suggests that the Campus attracts students from areas with fewer learning opportunities and that the choice to attend the university away from home represents a significant investment for their future. In terms of satisfaction, most students are satisfied with the learning path offered by the Campus, especially appreciating the quality of the relationship with the teachers (with an average score of 7.5 on a scale from 1 to 10) the usefulness of the subjects studied for integration into the world of work. However, there is also a not inconsiderable drop-out rate, with a significant decline in students from the second to third year of the three-year course. The statistical analysis reveals several significant correlations. For example, a relationship between gender and geographical origin emerges, with a greater presence of female students from central Italy. There is also a link between previous work experience in the tourist sector and clear professional objectives. The use of multiple regression allowed to deepen the analysis of variables, confirming the importance of progression in the study path and the origin from a sea location as factors affecting the level of student satisfaction. In conclusion, the thesis offers an articulated picture of the academic experience at the Fondazione Campus, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Although the survey is based on a limited sample and voluntary basis, the results provide food for thought for the management of the Campus, suggesting that action should be taken to reduce the drop-out rate, To enhance practical activities and promote greater interaction during lessons.
