Riassunto
The work arises from the evidence of recent collapses of bridges in Italy and around the world due to aging, lack of a proper monitoring system, traffic and climate change. The aim of this work is to develop a tool for the monitoring and protection of bridges and viaducts in Italy. With this purpose an attempt to use the InSAR remote sensing technique for monitoring of eventually structural changes of the art-works is evaluated. This technique makes possible the detection of vertical movement indicating potential instabilities requiring detailed ground investigations. The technique involves the application of the Multi-temporal InSAR process to a series of radar images over the same region. The following methodology is proposed in order to put the use of innovation inspection technologies in relation to life cycle costs and the expected technical and functional lifespan of a structure. A strategy is delevoped for the prediction of the most vulnerable infrastructures based on the structural and geotechnical characteristic of the infrastructure and the displacement analysis. Furthermore, an application of this methodology on a case study in the province of La Spezia (Italy) is presented. In this case study the COSMO-SkyMed imagery is used. The images are acquired from ASI and subsequently elaborated with StaMPS PSI interferometric process.
