In che modo i volontari ed alcune categorie di stakeholder possono contribuire alla governance delle aree marine protette e come tali contributi possono essere valorizzati per promuovere lo sviluppo di un turismo sostenibile?
La tesi si articola in tre capitoli principali.
Nel primo capitolo si focalizza l’attenzione sulle aree marine protette, esplorando vari aspetti del coinvolgimento dei volontari e di altri stakeholder per una governance efficace.
Nel secondo capitolo si analizza come la partecipazione attiva di questi attori possa essere integrata nello sviluppo di forme di turismo sostenibile.
Infine, nel terzo capitolo, si prosegue ad esaminare le strategie per rendere una governance più inclusiva ed un turismo più sostenibile nelle aree marine protette, considerando aspetti di governance inclusiva, educazione ambientale, e proiezioni future per una gestione efficace delle risorse marine.

How can volunteers and certain categories of stakeholders contribute to the governance of marine protected areas and how can these contributions be harnessed to promote the development of sustainable tourism?
The thesis is divided into three main chapters.
The first chapter focuses on marine protected areas, exploring various aspects of involving volunteers and other stakeholders for effective governance.
The second chapter explores how the active participation of these stakeholders can be integrated into the development of sustainable forms of tourism.
Finally, the third chapter goes on to examine strategies for more inclusive governance and more sustainable tourism in marine protected areas, considering aspects of inclusive governance, environmental education, and future projections for effective marine resource management.
