La presente tesi è stata sviluppata all'interno del laboratorio Human Interfaces in Information Systems (HIIS) nell’Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie dell’Informazione “A.Faedo” all’interno del Centro di Ricerca Nazionale di Pisa. Il seguente lavoro propone la progettazione e lo sviluppo di funzionalità per spiegare possibili problematiche che possono insorgere tra regole trigger-action in un ambiente intelligente. Tali funzionalità hanno come obiettivo quello di facilitare il processo di debugging tra le automazioni per gli utenti non esperti, in modo autonomo ed efficace.
A completamento del progetto è stata condotta una valutazione dell'usabilità e sull'utilità effettuata su 18 soggetti non esperti di programmazione.

This thesis was developed within the Human Interfaces in Information Systems (HIIS) laboratory at the Institute of Information Science and Technologies "A. Faedo" within the National Research Center of Pisa. The following work proposes the design and development of features to explain potential issues that may arise between trigger-action rules in an intelligent environment. These features aim to facilitate the debugging process for non-expert users' automations autonomously and effectively.
To complete the project, a usability and utility evaluation was conducted with 18 non-programming expert participants.
