Riassunto
This thesis aims to design and implement a monitoring system for patients with chronic diseases. By integrating devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, and spirometers, the system collects data and offloads it to a cloud platform for storage and analysis. The cloud platform processes this data and presents it on a user-friendly dashboard for clinicians, enabling them to provide timely, high-quality care.
A dedicated app has been developed to offer patients an intuitive interface for connecting with their clinicians, including a video call system for live assistance. This enhances patient-clinician interaction and ensures prompt support when needed.
The system also monitors network performance metrics like latency and throughput. While these metrics are not the primary focus of the thesis, they are made available so that in the future they can be used to assess how technologies like 5G might improve data transmission and reliability in telemedicine systems. The emphasis remains on the design and implementation of the data collection system and the functionalities that facilitate real-time patient monitoring and assistance.
The final outcome is a fully operational monitoring system that not only enhances the management of chronic diseases but also lays the groundwork for future technological advancements in healthcare solutions.
