Riassunto
In any country of the world, the road network pavement system is one of the main pillars for achieving economic growth, to increase competitiveness and prosperity in the region. Creation of road Infrastructure, through its direct and indirect effects, has a bearing on sustainability of growth and overall development of a country. This is particularly true in countries where road transport is the largest component of overall transportation.
Beyond the construction of road networks or pavement infrastructures; there is an even more important part, the Paving Maintenance, which represents an integral part of the management system of the pavement for a reliable prediction of its life cycle.
At the network level, such information is important to ensure adequate financial funding and budgeting. Pavement management is the process of planning the maintenance and repair of a network of roadways or other paved facilities in order to optimize pavement conditions over the entire network. This procedure incorporates life cycle costs into a more systematic approach to minor and major road maintenance and reconstruction projects.
