Riassunto
Bipolar patients seem to be at high risk of trauma exposure and, when exposed, of PTSD. When comorbid, PTSD has shown a negative impact on the course of the bipolar illness. The COVID-19 outbreak has been a relevant mass-trauma for each of us; an increasing amount of literature suggests how the Corona Virus Disease-19 (COVID-19) and the related quarantine or social-distancing measures may represent a traumatic experience, possibly affecting on individuals’ mental health and well-being. The aim of this study is to investigate the psychopathological response to covid-19 of our bipolar patients in the acute phase of the emergency and, after 3 months, at the entrance to phase 3. Affective, anxious and traumatic spectrum symptoms were investigated through scales administered to patients through telemedicine.
