The importance of the right ventricle in different cardiovascular diseases and in cardiac surgery has been recognized for several years. Evaluating the right ventricle in the perioperative period is challenging because of complex anatomy and function. We studied the effect of cardiac surgery on longitudinal and global function of the right ventricle.
