Tesi di ricerca focalizzata sull’evoluzione geopolitica dell’organizzazione terroristica Al Qaeda a seguito dell’attentato dell’11 settembre 2001 a New York. Sono stati presi in considerazione i conflitti armati provocati da Stati Uniti ed Europa nell’area medio orientale, gli ulteriori attentati, la struttura di propaganda e reclutamento orchestrata sul web. Una particolare attenzione è stata prestata all’archivio Bin Laden 2021, basato su fonti ritrovate nel compound in Pakistan nel giorno della morte di Osama bin Laden e tradotte dalla CIA per il Rand Counter Terrorism Institute. Conclude la stesura una panoramica sulla situazione geopolitica in Afghanistan dopo la presa di potere governativa dei Talebani e dell’Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan e le implicazioni che ne conseguono per la popolazione civile e nell’inasprimento di nuovi attentati nell’area e in territorio occidentale.

Research thesis focused on the geopolitical evolution of the terrorist organization Al Qaeda following the attack of 11 September 2001 in New York. The armed conflicts caused by the United States and Europe in the Middle East, the further attacks, the propaganda and recruitment structure orchestrated on the web were taken into consideration. Particular attention was paid to the Bin Laden 2021 archive, based on sources found in the compound in Pakistan on the day of Osama bin Laden's death and translated by the CIA for the Rand Counter Terrorism Institute. The draft concludes with an overview of the geopolitical situation in Afghanistan after the government takeover of the Taliban and the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan and the resulting implications for the civilian population and in the escalation of new attacks in the area and in western territory.
