Riassunto
At the present moment, few global-scale studies investigating human influence on terrestrial or maritime ecoregions have been published. No research considering both realms for the whole world is yet available. Furthermore, no projections for the 21st century of the principal drivers of human impact have been integrated in a global analysis of anthropic impact for the next 100 years.
Unifying data originating from several projections (protected areas distribution and management, land-use, population density, urban development, surface temperature change) into a score-based framework, the aim of this thesis is to identify points of criticality in the global network of protected areas at multiple scales, from the global to the sub-national one, for the coming century.
