L'elaborato si propone di delineare gli eventi salienti che hanno contraddistinto il percorso della devolution in Scozia, a partire da una breve analisi storica, incentrata sul periodo precedente all'istituzione del Parlamento scozzese di Holyrood conseguente all'approvazione da parte di Westminster dello Scotland Act 1998. Esso prosegue poi con l'analisi dell'evoluzione dell'ordinamento scozzese, negli anni del governo di Tony Blair e del tentativo di indipendenza con il referendum del 18 Settembre 2014, per poi concludersi con il capitolo incentrato sul referendum Brexit e le sue conseguenze per la Scozia europeista e l'intero Regno Unito.

The paper aims to outline the main events that have marked the path of devolution in Scotland, starting with a brief historical analysis, focused on the period preceding the establishment of the Scottish Parliament of Holyrood following the approval of Scotland Act 1998 by Westminster. It continues then with the analysis of the evolution of the Scottish legal system, in the years of the Tony Blair government and the attempt at independence with the referendum of 18 September 2014, and then concludes with the chapter focused on the Brexit referendum and its consequences for pro-European Scotland and the whole United Kingdom.
