Riassunto (Italiano)
The aim of this study is to provide a starting point for a synchronic description of motion events in the language of the most ancient text written in an Indo-Aryan language, the Rigveda. Starting from Talmy's classification of lexicalization patterns and the resulting dichotomy in satellite- vs. verb-framing languages, not only are motion verbs and constructions analysed, but a range of collateral forms are discussed too, such as change of state, periphrastic constructions, adjectival predication. The syntactic manifestations of split intransitivity are widely treated, too.
