Riassunto (Italiano)
The Mu2e experiment at Fermilab will search for muon conversion to electron in a nucleus field. An eventual observation of this process will be an evidence of new physics beyond the Standard Model. The last complete evaluation of the Mu2e experimental sensitivity was in 2014: since then, detectors performances and resolutions have been measured, resulting to be worse than project requirements, and the apparatus has been changed. This thesis uses Monte Carlo simulations to make an updated evaluation of signal efficiency and background contributions, to estimate the effective sensitivity that Mu2e can currently achieve. A new multivariate classifier has been also developed to improve the particle identification.
