Riassunto
The aim of this thesis is to check the universality predictions about the chiral phase transition in QCD between the hadron gas and the Quark-Gluon Plasma via Monte Carlo simulations. In these simulations different numbers of degenerate flavours and lattices having vary temporal and spatial number of divisions have been considered, in order to extrapolate to the continuum. Moreover, the action used has two modifications with respect to the standard one: the tree level Symanzik improvement on the gauge part and the stout smearing of the link variables in the interaction part. The presence of these improvements leads to results which are better than previous work and which seem to confirm the universality predictions in the eight-flavour-case.
