Riassunto
All the heritage of Italian villages is intimately linked to the concept of collective identity, intended as a repertoire of figures of the past that the inhabitants of a place have inherited from their ancestors and that they recognize as their own feature. The sense of the loss of this cultural identity and the feeling of the disappearance of the tangible and intangible heritage of a place is an issue that arises after every catastrophic event that partially or totally destroys the places of our past: in this sense, the succession of destructions and reconstructions of the places has always represented a critical and dramatic knot in the history of Italian country.
This is how, after the last disastrous earthquakes that hit Central Italy in 2016, the institutions and the Italian population once again turned to questioning the problem of the reconstruction of the so called 'widespread heritage', concerning minor historical centers and villages.
The thesis investigates some significant cases of post-seismic rehabilitation and renovation, in an attempt to develop a shared and coherent position in the current debate about the reconstruction of minor historical centers; then, the work analyzes as object of study the interventions and prospects of post-earthquake reconstruction of the village of Castelluccio di Norcia, a fraction of the Municipality of Norcia, in Umbria, severely damaged from the earthquake of October the 30th, which razed to the ground the upper part of the burg and destroyed in total about 60% of the ancient village.
The purpose of this dissertation is to compare the configuration of the village in the phases before and after the earthquake; for this reason, the use of UAVs (drones) in the field of photogrammetry is studied and profoundly analyzed, in order to define complete and accurate 3D models of the village, respectively in the phases that anticipate and follow the catastrophic event.
Finally, after the definition of the damage level and through the study of the results of a survey distributed to the inhabitants, the thesis aims at defining proposals for the reconstruction and renewal of the village of Castelluccio, in the direction of the enhancement of its archaic beauty and improvement of the quality of the interventions, to be performed according to the historical stratigraphy and the aggregative and typological urban systems.
