Riassunto
This work was born with the main aim to check the impact of Dual-Phase steel on the seismic response of concrete structures. This new type of steel was developed by the European research project called “NEWREBAR”. To reach the objective of the thesis a moment resisting frame structure was designed two times, the first with the conventional reinforcing steel (i.e. TempCore reinforcing steel) while the second with the Dual-Phase steel type F, called briefly DPF. Both the structure designed with the B450C steel and the structure designed with DPF steel were checked using the modal analyses with response spectra and both the structures meet the requirements of the Italian Construction Code and the Eurocode 8. Later both models were analysed with pushover analyses and to compare the capacity of the structures N2 method was used.
