Riassunto
International Reactor Innovative and Secure (IRIS) is an International Near-Term Deployment (INTD) reactor; its design is still in progress. The analysis of a portion of the core coolant system led to a thermo-hydraulic Phenomena Identification and Ranking Table (PIRT) and to some design proposals. A Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) commercial code was validated against a consistent experimental case available in literature. Finally one of the identified phenomenon was simulated, in order to gather information useful in designing, instrumenting and running a down scaled experimental facility.
