Riassunto
The present thesis took place at the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at Darmstadt University, Germany, from March 2011 to August 2011. The subject of this work was the investigation of flow boiling phenomena in mini-channel under microgravity conditions by measuring the heating wall temperature distribution of the channel with high spatial and temporal resolution in conjunction with high speed imaging of the bubble shapes. The dependency of flow boiling phenomena on gravity will be evaluated aboard the A300 ZERO-G during the 55th ESA Parabolic Flight Campaign (PFC) from November 14st to 25st, 2011.To achieve this aim first an experimental loop, where a continual flow boiling process of the working fluid FC-72 is reached within a mini-channel, was designed, manufactured and assembled. Then a particular kind of mechanical structure called rack required to withstand the experimental loop and all the necessary measurement devices essential to carry out experimentation in microgravity was designed, verified for the possible load which could occur during a microgravity test, and assembled.
