Riassunto
In this thesis, I have developed a versatile travel-time calculator based on the solution of the Eikonal equation, and capable to manage various data acquisition geometries. These geometries include scenarios such as fiber cable deployment in both vertical and deviated boreholes. We then employ the computed travel times to generate synthetic DAS seismograms using a convolutional model, which can be used to 1) evaluate the detection and location capability of a particular data acquisition geometry, 2) test newly developed data analysis methods, and 3) train machine learning models. The travel-time calculator is finally used within waveform-based location methods to test its performance with DAS data.
