One of the most studied mathematical models in the modern and contemporary analysis area is represented by the Cauchy problem associated to the nonlinear wave equation (NLW).
The first obstacle to the study of this equation is no doubt establishing conditions of existence of a solution - at least a time-local one - and its regularty, which is important too. In fact, while we're able to say a lot of things about the linear equation, NLW still today conceals secrets and several approaches are being tempted in order to learn about it.
