Riassunto
This thesis work consists in the study of hybrid superconductor-normal metal device, called omega-SQUIPT, on both theoretical and experimental point of view. The omega-SQUIPT consists in a three terminal Josephson Junction made of normal metal. The three terminals are linked to two superconducting loops that allow the phase bias of junction terminals by mean of an external magnetic field.
This physical behaviour of the omega-SQUIPT is theoretically investigated within the quasi-classical theory of superconductivity, that describes the proximity effect of the normal-superconductor contact. The proximity effect consists in the induction of superconducting properties in the normal metal, caused by an electric contact with a superconductor.
From the experimental perspective, in this work is described the nanofabrication technique and the subsequent electro-magnetical characterization of the fabricated samples. The simulations, made within the model developed in the theoretical part of this master thesis, are in agreement with the experimental results.
In summary, this work offers an investigation in three-terminal Josephson Junction, that in recent time has been evaluated as a good candidate for new areas of research in fundamental Physics and Quantum Computation.
