The helium to metal enrichment ratio is a fundamental quantity in astrophysics, that gives
us valuable information about our galaxy’s chemical evolution history. The method proposed in this study involves the use of low main sequence stars belonging to the local Galactic disk, within a distance of 125pc. That’s because photometric and astrometric data for these stars, provided by the latest data release of the Gaia mission Gaia DR3, are very precise.The helium to metal enrichment ratio has been estimated by minimizing a metric that depends intrinsically on this parameter.
