Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Internet has become the primary medium for conducting an increasing number of activities, ranging from business and learning to entertainment. In this thesis, I will study the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on DNS response time. The study focuses on some European countries that have experienced different restrictions imposed by local authorities. A large amount of measurements collected by RIPE Atlas will be used to carry out a longitudinal study, to highlight the the impact caused by restrictions. In some cases there is an increase in response time compared to the pre-pandemic period, but different levels and distinct patterns.
