Riassunto
In collaboration between the University of Pisa and Bio3DPrinting S.r.l. we had the chance to develop and design a novel tool changer for a Delta robot bioprinter. The novelty of this product consists in the use of an alternative system to the commercially diffused magnetic tool changer. Integrating different printing technologies, such as pneumatic extrusion, FDM, electrospinning and others, the company requested a tool changer which would not interfere with the above printing technologies. The electrospinning, which requires high control of the currents and magnetic fields present in the printing environment. The project went from idea, research, CAD, validation via Multiphysics simulations and machine tests to final prototype which allows a seamless change of tools in the printing procedures.
