Il presente lavoro di tesi aveva lo scopo di indagare l’influenza esercitata dal genere e dall’identità di genere sulla rappresentazione corporea delle emozioni. Dopo un’iniziale panoramica sulle emozioni, sulla disforia di genere e sull’interocezione, nella prima parte dell’esperimento abbiamo confrontato le mappe corporee delle emozioni dei soggetti maschi e femmine cisgender, cioè con identità di genere congruente al sesso biologico. Nella seconda parte dell’esperimento, invece, abbiamo paragonato le mappe corporee delle emozioni dei soggetti cisgender con quelle dei soggetti transgender/altro, cioè con identità di genere difforme dal sesso biologico. Lo studio ha dimostrato che sia il genere che l’identità di genere influenzano la rappresentazione corporea delle emozioni.
This thesis was intended to investigate the influence exerted by gender and gender identity on the body representation of emotions. After an initial overview of emotions, gender dysphoria and interoception, in the first part of the experiment we compared the bodily maps of the emotions of cisgender male and female subjects, that is, with gender identity congruent to biological sex. In the second part of the experiment, we compared the bodily maps of the emotions of cisgender subjects with those of transgender / other subjects, that is, with gender identities different from their biological sex. The study showed that both gender and gender identity influence the body's representation of emotions.
