Riassunto (Italiano)
The Amiata donkey is a breed faced with the risk of extinction. Ultrasound assessment knowledge of the jennies pregnancy conducted after the 150th day is still to be researched in order identify jennies at risk of an abnormal pregnancy. The aim of this study was to test additional validate techniques of jennies fetal environment ultrasound evaluation by collecting different parameters with weekly transrectal and transabdominal ultrasonography (B-mode ultrasonography and echo Doppler velocimetry) from day 150 to pregnancy term in 6 pregnant jennies: ctup; orbit diameter; aortic diameter; thorax diameter; heart rate; RI and PI of the umbilical artery.
Five out of 6 pregnant jennies gave birth to a living foal at term at 361±11.5 (Mean±sd). One/6 aborted at day 324 and one jenny have a placental separation these pregnancies parameters were excluded from statistical analyses. All the parameters of normal pregnancy were correlated with the pregnancy progression. The fetal growth was correlated to the pregnancy period and Ri and PI was correlated to the fetal growth.
