Riassunto
The objective of this thesis involves conducting an examination of the multisensory integration of touch and sound. The primary goal is to investigate the potential existence of common pleasure evaluation mechanisms between tactile and sound senses. This investigation will entail the utilization of music-inspired touch stimuli, which will be characterized using an artificial fingertip and employed in psychophysical protocols. The main idea is to develop tactile stimuli that draw inspiration from music, with a specific emphasis on the perception of pleasant or unpleasant musical sounds. By evaluating these stimuli using touch sensing, valuable insights can be acquired regarding the potential relationship between the neurological activities associated with touch and sound perception. Such discoveries carry significant implications for the design industry, with the potential to impact a broad range of product developments.
