Riassunto
The study examines the use of insects as an alternative protein source in the diet for laying hens.
The common source of protein today is soy, which although has a high nutritional value, is also characterized by a problematic farming procedurs in terms of its environmental impact - deforestation and extensive use of water.
Insects, environmentalwize, present a promising alternative, can be grown in industrial conditions with low water and land consumption.
In this study, a comparison was made between 21 studies, the common denominator between them is that they all compared birds that received a diet where the protein source is soy, this is the control group, a classic diet of laying hens today. In the face of different experimental groups in which the soy component was replaced by different species of different insects, the effect of dietary variation on different production parameters was examined.
The purpose of the thesis was to test the nutritional effect of insects on egg quality and productive performance
