Riassunto
In essence, the Canadian Space Agency's CANADARM, which is utilized on the International Space Station, is an arm-like end effector. This end effector securely holds onto the objects it is meant to lift using a kind of latching mechanism. Performing maintenance, moving scheduled equipment and supplies, serving as an extremity to assist astronauts in extra vehicular activities, and above all getting on modules launched from Earth and berthing with the ISS (International Space Station) are the main functions of this mechanism. With a focus on designing the end effector using a reverse engineering approach using publicly accessible data and standards, the project's scope is restricted to the geometrical design aspects of the manipulator arm end effector.
