The main objectives of this thesis can be summarised as follows:
1. Synthesis and characterisation of new diiron vinyliminium complexes with variable substituents and of some related derivatives;
2. Evaluation of the in vitro antiproliferative activity of the complexes towards A2780, A2780R and HEK293 cell lines;
3. Study of the interaction of diiron vinyliminium complexes with biomolecules, with the aim of giving insight to their possible mechanism of action.
