Riassunto (Inglese)
Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a liver disease involving inflammation, hepatocyte ballooning, and fibrosis. NASH can progress to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Hepatic inflammation and dyslipidaemia are key to disease onset and progression. The project aimed to test the therapeutic role of oral administration of ApoA-I Milano (AIM) protein, via engineered rice milk, in reducing or slowing down the NASH to HCC progression. This thesis focuses on the collection and quantitative analysis of fibrosis and histological data using the digital pathology tool QuPath software to evaluate phenotypic alterations. These data are integrated with hepatic transcriptomic and lipidomic datasets. These data will be used to establish an integrated multi-omics analysis to evaluate the relationships among histopathological features, lipid metabolic alterations, and gene expression profiles.
