Riassunto
This thesis presents the modeling of a thermal transient in the walls of a nuclear reactor pressure in the case of a pressurized thermal shock scenario. It consists of a overview and introduction on the broad topic at hand, with the insertion of the work itself into the context of safe nuclear energy production. Then it proceeds to illustrate a theoretical analysis of a possible solution for the calculation of a transient temperature field in a solid wall of a given simple geometry. Lastly, the thesis presents details about the implementation of a numerical code aimed at speeding up the calculation of the temperature in the bulk of the walls of the reactor, and presents the results of this code by comparing them against an FEM analysis in a simple case.
