Riassunto
This work can be divided into two main sections. The first one has the purpose
of the evaluation of the lateral dynamics of the vehicle both in steady and transient
conditions, through the simulation of standard manoeuvres such as, for example,
slow ramp steering input. The analysis was supported by a strong theoretical analysis
showing which parameters are most influencing the vehicle handling and how information about its transitory behavior can be established
from the knowledge of stationary quantities.

In the second part, a telemetry analysis was performed
on the data of the driving simulator. The study led to the definition of different
indices that can be used to study vehicle stability, performance and
set-up. Attention was paid in order to define the indices whose calculation
avoids the knowledge of quantities, such as the lateral slip angle, that would be
available for driving simulation data but are difficult to measure in
real vehicles.
